Carlos Fuchs was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, in an environment surrounded by music. His paternal grandmother, Mira Bank Fuchs, founding violinist of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, and his father, Robert Fuchs, himself a brilliant pianist, had a definite influence on his musical formation.
At the age of seven he started his studies at the piano. For more than 10 years he studied with Saloméa Gandelman, and was also under the tuition of masters like Jacques Klein and Homero de Magalhães.
Carlos’s passion for music and creative restlessness also led him backstage, to the studios, to the world of secrets behind the recordings, to the place where the magic happens. And so, from the age of 22, music and audio directed his life.
For more than three decades, Carlos Fuchs has been working in the music scene, whether as an artist, musician, arranger, producer or sound engineer.
Always with excellent reviews, both in Brazil and abroad, he released five albums as an artist, two in duo with the late singer Ryta de Cássia (Rita Peixoto & Carlos Fuchs - 1992 and Na Minha Cara - 1998) and one in duo with singer and composer Marcos Sacramento (Fossa Nova - 2006), this one bringing exclusively his compositions in partnership with Sacramento.
His fourth album, Caderno Roubado - 2019, released on CD and LP was exclusively dedicated to his instrumental works and featured the instrumental chamber group Água de Moringa, formed by great musicians from the Rio de Janeiro scene. Os Ventos - 2020, also instrumental, has several strings, woodwind and brass formations, and has guests such as Gilson Peranzzetta, Eduardo Neves, Rui Alvim and the Saint Petersburg Studio Orchestra, among others.
As a music producer and sound engineer, Fuchs worked for two decades in his recording studio, the cult Tenda da Raposa, in Rio de Janeiro, where great artists recorded many magical musical moments.
